Our new family. |
After 8 wonderful years of marriage Susie and I are now a family of three. On November 4th at 7:26 am Hosanna Grace Elizabeth Dehnert was born. Susie started labor at 2:00am, and then Hosanna came 5 and-a-half hours later. Susie and I chose to have a water birth at home. Our midwife, Rebekah Knapp and her assistant Rita, delivered the baby.

This is the first time Susie held Hosanna. |
Susie is now holding Hosanna, and I am in total amazement. When I first saw Hosanna, all I could do was praise God and cry! Hosanna stole my heart the first time I saw her. I cannot believe that I am a dad. I pray that God will help me be a great dad.

I was so proud of Susie! She did such a good job. I will not understand how much pain she went through, but she did it with impressive fashion. |
The following are some random pictures that make me smile.

Now introducing Texas' new MVP! |
|
At one day old, Hosanna helped me cheer the Texas Longhorns to a 52-20 win over Texas Tech. Clearly, she is the cutest Texas Longhorn fan. |
Susie and my prayer is that we will be a family that can display God's love to a hurting world. Even though we do not have all the answers we strive to raise her with God's grace and understanding. I as her father promise to love her, cry with her, comfort her, and pray with her through whatever challenges life brings her.
