Hosanna 1 Week Old

 She found her fingers!

Tired out after 120 pictures in 1 day!

My friend DaNae Johnson (below) had a baby girl 5 weeks before me. Her daughter's name in Joy. They will be buddies.
DaNae came for a visit and took a ton of pictures of Hosanna and Joy. I only posted a couple. It was great fun.

Meeting Grandpa Loren

Meeting the Hansens (Susie's Family)

When we moved from Springfield, MO in April we were looking forward to being so close to family. On Sunday November 6th, Susie's parents and sister visited us.

Grandpa Jeff has three granddaughters now.

With so many people to take pictures, we had the chance to take another one.
This was such a fun day. Millie, Jeff, and Christy were so excited for our new addition to the family.

Family of Three

Our new family.

After 8 wonderful years of marriage Susie and I are now a family of three. On November 4th at 7:26 am Hosanna Grace Elizabeth Dehnert was born. Susie started labor at 2:00am, and then Hosanna came 5 and-a-half hours later. Susie and I chose to have a water birth at home. Our midwife, Rebekah Knapp and her assistant Rita, delivered the baby.

Rebekah is holding Hosanna with Rita behind her.
This is the first time Susie held Hosanna.

Susie is now holding Hosanna, and I am in total amazement. When I first saw Hosanna, all I could do was praise God and cry! Hosanna stole my heart the first time I saw her. I cannot believe that I am a dad.  I pray that God will help me be a great dad.

I was so proud of Susie! She did such a good job. I will not understand how much pain she went through, but she did it with impressive fashion.
The following are some random pictures that make me smile.

This is my favorite picture of Hosanna so far...

Now introducing Texas' new MVP!

At one day old, Hosanna helped me cheer the Texas Longhorns to a 52-20 win over Texas Tech. Clearly, she is the cutest Texas Longhorn fan.

Susie and my prayer is that we will be a family that can display God's love to a hurting world. Even though we do not have all the answers we strive to raise her with God's grace and understanding. I as her father promise to love her, cry with her, comfort her, and pray with her through whatever challenges life brings her.

Our family is extended by one.
